The church was delighted to be able to host COVID-compliant classical music concerts supported by the Tilford Bach Society. However forthcoming concerts have unfortunately been postponed. Check the Conservatoire Concerts website
for more details.
We have also hosted the Guildford Jazz Society for a Christmas concert. Concerts staged by the Farncombe Music Club are also suspended at the moment but we hope will begin again later in 2021.
Advent Crib Trail
Thank you to everyone who took part in our Advent Crib Trail around the village, and to Primo Computers, Natter Café, Huckleberry Bistro, Aquarius Gallery, Boots the Chemists, and Nightingale Flowers who hosted the crib figures.
The Borough of Waverley is now under Tier Four coronavirus restrictions. Public worship can continue and we believe that St John's is well prepared for this with conditions of maximum safety. There is no need at the moment to book for any of the Anglican services, but the Roman Catholic parish of St Edmund operates a booking system for the Sunday masses, for which see their own webpage.
The present service pattern is:
Sundays, 8am Holy Communion & 10.30am Parish Communion
Sundays, 9am Roman Catholic parish mass
Wednesdays, 12 noon Holy Communion
If you're coming to church remember to wear a face covering unless exempt, and observe hygiene and distancing conventions.
Other events remain impossible under Tier Four restrictions.
We look forward to the time when they can resume!
